Summary:

The Office Associate is responsible for conducting administrative and office work for the store. The Office Associate handles and protects sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis. This role requires a high level of discretion and the safeguard of confidential information. This role may also require the signing of a confidentiality agreement.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

We are looking to round out our office team with a dedicated and organized individual to take on a human resources admin role. This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week. The position includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Work with our general manager to identify hiring needs—post positions as needed, interview, and onboard new employees.
  • Ensure employee compliance records are up-to-date, including, safety training and certification, e-learning compliance, etc.
  • Coordinate employee reviews with the necessary leadership team member.
  • Execute reports in store specific programs and action accordingly.
  • Ensure office supplies are in stock and available.
  • Ongoing policy review and training with team members.
  • Fill in for our office manager when away—cash balancing, truck claims and reconciliation, payables, receivables, etc.
  • Back-up payroll when our payroll clerk is away—prepare payroll (taxes and deductions) and maintain accurate personnel records, including compensation and benefits, as required.
  • Other office admin tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an office role with HR and payroll duties.
  • Proficient in office software systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, payroll systems and bookkeeping.
  • Results-oriented individual who possesses solid organizational abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner and to inspire others’ confidence and trust.
  • Ability to work in a team environment that provides assistance and support to co-workers to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to plan, organize, delegate and follow up on tasks, activities and projects.
